BBQ 25th May 2010

A great afternoon was had by all members as can be seen by these photos, The weather was fine the food great ( once again many thanks to the cooks Martyn, and Colin) also to the ladies who made burgers ,salads etc.

One item was misplaced and that was the fire lighters, but with the good old British resolve this was soon sorted by gathering twigs, dried grass etc, and soon the BBQ was well and truly alight, hence a little smoke!

     VALENTINE – 60’S NIGHT

           EL TRAPICHE – SATURDAY 13^TH FEBRUARY 2010

 Saturday 13^th saw the combined Valentine/60’s night with Torre del Mar, Alcaucin, Trapiche and ourselves.   As usual the supper was excellent, well served by the staff.  There was a raffle with lots of prizes and even some of them going to ourselves. Yippppeeee even Brian won a bottle of whisky.   The entertainment was provided by a singer with a disco and a really good night was had by us all.   Our branch entered into the spirit of the night with Martyn, Rebecca, Jackie, Pam and myself dressing up in 60’s gear.   The prize for best dressed  went to Pam for the ladies and Martyn for the men, and gorgeous they were too. Thanks to Rebecca and Jackie for dressing up also.   We provided great amusement for the rest of the folk there.   Are we the only branch prepared to go ahead and make an effort, it certainly looks so.   Even Mel grew his sideburns for six weeks to get them to look like Elvis, but sorry Mel, you were just a wee bit short on top for an Elvis look alike.   I must say, Colin looked splendid when he donned my wig and all said wigs will be wending their way to Benidorm when we go.  Sadly upon my trying to save my  pictures from my camera to the computer, they seem to have vanished.  Oh well Colin, saved by the computer.
