When this information was found out Joyce thought that it would be a good idea to make up a little dittee and we would all sing it to them, maybe another 40 years is needed to get the singing right?.

The Poppy Ball held at the Nerja Caves Restaurant

4th November 2011

The Poppy Ball held at the Nerja Caves Restaurant in conjunction with the Torre del Mar Branch, proved to be an outstanding success. Congratulations to all involved in its organisation.

Thanks to Lorraine and Margaret for selling draw tickets, sadly our Branch only managed a couple of prizes, however it raised much needed funds for the poppy appeal.

The Royal British Legion

Tri Branch 90^th Anniversary Celebrations.

On the evening of 9^thSeptember the following Branches of the Royal British Legion Celebrated the 90^thAnniversary

of the forming of the RBL. (1921-2011).

The 3 Branches celebrating the anniversary were Torra Del Mar RBL. Benarafia RBL. And Los Romanes RBL. The Supper Dance was held in the splendid surroundings of the Puerta Niza Hotel at Benajarafe

Due to the event being the 90th Anniversary of the RBL all three branch standards were on display, as was the union flag. The Exhortation and Citation was read by Bill Radford Chairman of Torre Del Mar RBL.

The venue was a buffet supper and dancing was to the highly enjoyable music supplied by Andy Time. It was noted that Andy had hit the right note when a couple of minutes after he started playing the dance floor was full and this was the way it went all evening. A raffle was held and a grand total of 363.00 euro’s will be donated to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Due to the success of the evening future Tri events will be on the cards.

This was the first time that John Bosworth Los Romanes Standard Bearer had paraded the branch standard.

BBQ 30th May 2011

A great afternoon was had by all members as can be seen by these photos, The weather was fine the food great ( once again many thanks to the cooks Martyn, and Colin and John's son in law Mike) also to everyone who provided salads etc. The venue was in the National Park at Alcaucin which was excellent and enjoyed by all even those of us who got stuck in the Ford. We are not saying who, but no prizes for guessing the cars.
